To assist in the understanding of what we know about the atom, you will be creating a timeline reflecting the development of the scientific model of the atom. The model has changed through new discoveries by philosophers and scientists in physics as well as chemistry.  You're assignment is to research the major contributions and significant discoveries that have impacted the atomic model and develop a timeline.

1. Include at least the following scientists and groups:

                 Alchemists                                Ernest Rutherford

                 Albert Einstein                          The Curies

                 Aristotle                                     John Dalton

                 Geiger                                        J.J.Thompson

                 Neils Bohr                                 Glen Seaborg

                 Chadwick                                  Otto Hahn

                 Lavoisier                                    Lise Meitner

                 Coulomb                                    W.K. Roentgen

                 Max Planck

2. Include the following pictorial models of atom:

                 A. Indivisible, solid sphere model

                 B. Electron cloud model

                 C. Planetary cloud model

                 D. Plum (raisin) pudding model

                 E. Rutherford’s nuclear model

3. Chronological, in sequence, with dates clearly shown.

4. Contain, through pictures and/or explanations the significant contributions and experiments of those scientists and atomic models listed above.

5. Produce a computer generated timeline.
